BIOGRAPHY

I am a qualified compositor and bookkeeper living in Sydney, Australia. I was born and raised in Dubbo, in central west New South Wales.

After I left school I completed an indentured apprenticeship in composition. The bulk of this was done by hand with a photo typesetter which I had to process using photo chemicals. I would then place the type over a hand drawn background which usually was outlines, etc. It was during this apprenticeship that desktop publishing became more accessable. During the third year of my apprenticeship I completed a desktop publishing course. This course was done using PageMaker, however I am now competent with most programs like Quark, Publisher, etc.

After the apprenticeship I continued desktop publishing. At the same time I also started installing and supporting point of sale systems for the same company. A large part of this involved data entry of inventory items and setting up back office systems. It was due to this that I achieved my data entry accuracy and speed. During this time I also installed, set up and supported accounting programs. This was done using both MYOB and Quickbooks. I usually built the General Ledger from scratch. I have recently competed a temporary data entry role for the ATO.

I am employed full time and am looking to earn some extra income.
